4 lovely films about life-changing situations with the use of natural psychedelic medicines
I thought I didn’t like documentary films. One day a good friend of mine contacted me and said she is on her way to the big city to watch this doco movie and she has an extra ticket for me. I said to myself “whatever, let’s go”. From that moment, I became interested in films dealing with “Medicines”. To my surprise, there is a lot of those. Powerful experiences make people want to write and share. I’ll talk about four movies for a start.
Bufo Alvarius – The Underground Secret
Bufo Alvarius – The Underground Secret – As far as I know very few films have dealt with the subject of the toad Bufo and the 5-MeO-DMT. The people participating in this film talked about the effects and their experiences. The best part was the doctor who praised the 5-MeO-DMT and its effect on the mind. The film stretches with a lot of effects and fractals that tries to simulate the Psychedelic experience. In my opinion a little bit too many of those.
Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics
Have a Good Trip – Celebrities talk about their experiences with Psychedelic medicine. I mean, to hear that Sting made peyote doesn’t excite me than from someone else. But the fact is when celebrities reveal their Psychedelic experiences make it supposedly more legitimate. The film is somewhat repetitive in similar portrayals of each. Descriptions of the experiences are accompanied by nice animations, which adds some color and interest to the movie.
Fantastic Fungi – I didn’t stop thinking about this movie even after a few days. Not only fascinating information about the fungus kingdom in our world, but it also opens a new angle of thought. I was fascinated to learn about Magic mushrooms treatment with people suffering mentally and treatment of terminally ill patients by a variety of fungi. The film shows us once again how much we don’t really know what’s going on.
The mushrooms give us enlightening glimpses into the parallel world that is right here. Highly recommended.
Dosed – The Detox journey of a woman in her thirties struggling with drug addiction.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts at rehab in the traditional way, She tries to overcome her addiction through medicine herbs like magic mushrooms and Iboga. It’s amazing how much power these plants have. The movie ends with this sentence
“Psychedelic medicine remains illegal in most countries. We thank everyone around the world changing that. Together we can make this medicine available to those who need it.”
